"In early 2010 I needed to sell my mother’s house and decided to use a local estate agent. In Henleaze there is a choice between three local estate agents and I chose two of them to value the house, to describe their selling techniques, to tell me of their successes, to advise me of the potential to sell it to someone already on their potential buyers’ list and to present themselves personally to me. On all five levels Maggs & Allen came out on top.

Maggs & Allen suggested a selling price about 10% higher than the other agent and explained it could be achieved and that they had potential buyers available. It is important to remember that an estate agent serves the interests of the seller and there does need to be a genuine rapport between the seller and the agent. I therefore had little hesitation signing a contract with James Goodchild of Maggs & Allen. The first person who viewed the property offered the full asking price and this was accepted on the basis that the property be withdrawn from sale. One of the other people who viewed the property also offered the full asking price. In other words the house was sold twice within 24 hours.
